On the prestigious occasion of the 75th Republic Day of India, the Indian students at Lincoln American University, got the honour to meet with the President of Guyana, Dr Mohamed Irfaan Ali. The honourable president was also accompanied by the High Commissioner of India to Guyana, Antigua & Barbuda, St. Kitts & Nevis and CARICOM, H.E. Dr K. J. Srinivasa.
Earlier this month, the honourable President of Guyana, Dr Mohammed Irfaan Ali, met with the Prime Minister of India, Mr Narender Modi on his official visit to India. During his visit, he also attended the inauguration of the 17th Pravasi Bhartiya Divas Convention, followed by an extensive bilateral meeting with the PM of India to discuss mutual benefits in various aspects.
The celebrations commence with the traditional ceremony of Flag hoisting followed by the national anthem of India. The students of LAU also participated in the celebration, proudly representing the culture and traditions of India. For the same, they were also honoured with the certificate of participation by the High Commission of India to Guyana. The list of the awarded students included: Mr Sarvesh Vikhankar, Mr Prashant Shukla, Ms Deepti Vats and Ms Vrittika Godse.
It was truly an honour for the LAU students to meet the honourable President of Guyana and High Commissioner of India to Guyana, represent their culture and be a part of this celebration. The joyous day ceremony concluded with bright smiles and pride among the Indian students at LAU.
