Important Note For All The Students Enrolled/Enrolling After 18th November 2021
For Indian Students:
The entire five year course shall be conducted at Guyana in the University campus which includes one year of preclinical sciences , two years of Paraclinical sciences and two years of clinical sciences programme inclusive of clinical rotations in our affiliated hospitals at Guyana viz Georgetown Public Hospital and St Joseph Mercy Hospital.
The Indian students also have an option to undergo an observation practice at Max Healthcare, during their vacations/semester breaks to gain the relevant competencies and familiarize themselves with the disease profile and the healthcare delivery system prevalent in India.
The eligibility criteria for students to travel to Guyana for pursuing their medical education remains unchanged viz, NEET qualification is mandatory and eligibility criteria for NEET have to be fulfilled as laid down by competent authorities from time to time.This is essential for all students who wish to return to India and be eligible for appearing for FMGE/ NEXT Examination.
For International Students:
The eligibility criteria for the International students enrolling/enrolled at the Lincoln American University, School of Medicine, remains unchanged and is subject to the Medical Council of their respective country.
If the parent Medical Council of their country approves, the students can avail the benefit of undergoing clinical rotation in the leading hospitals of Nepal, India, the USA,etc

MBBS/MD admissions in Guyana to Lincoln American University for an MD Program is a very simple process. The very first step of the admission process is to submit an application form. Lincoln American University accepts applications of students for the MD Program three times a year– January, May, and September. The students are not required to take any entrance examination like MCAT, IELTS or TOEFL. So, No MCAT, IELTS or any other entrance exam is required to take admission at Lincoln American University.
LAU welcomes the students with a good background in academics who are enthusiastic, passionate and dedicated to health care delivery and who fulfil the eligibility criteria for medical education in their respective countries. The admission system limits enrolment to a certain cut-off in order to maintain high academic standards and ensure that students receive the best medical education possible while pursuing MBBS/MD (Physician) degree in Guyana.
Lincoln American University accepts the student applications without any regard to race, color, gender, religion, disability, or age to all rights, privileges, programs, and activities generally made available to students at the school in keeping with its goals of providing quality and affordable education and training. Student’s enrolment is based on academic skills, assessments, interviews, previous achievements, and other criteria.
The University invites application for the MD Program intake - thrice a year, i.e. January, May, and September. The applications are accepted based on the higher secondary school grades of the student. It should be noted that qualifying NEET is mandatory for all the Indian students who wish to study MD in foreign medical universities. At LAU, there is no entrance examination for enrolment of students. The entire admission process is merit-based and is designed in a manner to facilitate the students and help them in accomplishing their dreams.
At LAU, the MD curriculum meets the international standards for medical education. Lincoln American University works in close collaboration with the well-recognized hospitals and medical bodies in Guyana and other countries for conducting its clinical rotations program for practical exposure of the students pursuing MD Program at LAU. Note: For Indian Students, NEET is mandatory. All the Indian students who want to study MD in foreign universities must score a minimum of 50 percentile for General Category and 40 percentile for Reserved Category in accordance with the guidelines of Central Board of Secondary Education, India. Candidates do not have to appear for any additional entrance exam to get admission in LAU MD Program.
